First Reading 1 Samuel 1:24-28 Hannah gives thanks for the birth of Samuel.
In those days, Hannah brought Samuel with her, along with a three-year-old bull, an ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and presented him at the temple of the LORD in Shiloh. After the boy’s father had sacrificed the young bull, Hannah, his mother, approached Eli and said: “Pardon, my lord! As you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood near you here, praying to the LORD. I prayed for this child, and the LORD granted my request. Now I, in turn, give him to the LORD; as long as he lives, he shall be dedicated to the LORD.” She left Samuel there.

DAILY SCRIPTURE READINGS (DSR) 📚 Group, Wed Nov 27th, 2024 ... Wednesday of The Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time, Year B
Reading 1
---------
RV 15:1-4
I, John, saw in heaven another sign, great and awe-inspiring:
seven angels with the seven last plagues,
for through them God’s fury is accomplished.
Then I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire.
On the sea of glass were standing those
who had won the victory over the beast
and its image and the number that signified its name.
They were holding God’s harps,
and they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God,
and the song of the Lamb:
“Great and wonderful are your works,
Lord God almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
O king of the nations.
Who will not fear you, Lord,
or glorify your name?
For you alone are holy.
All the nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Responsorial Psalm
---------------
PS 98:1, 2-3AB, 7-8, 9
R. (Rev. 15: 3b) Great and wonderful are all your works, Lord, mighty God!
Sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done wondrous deeds;
His right hand has won victory for him,
his holy arm.
R. Great and wonderful are all your works, Lord, mighty God!
The LORD has made his salvation known:
in the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice.
He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness
toward the house of Israel.
R. Great and wonderful are all your works, Lord, mighty God!
Let the sea and what fills it resound,
the world and those who dwell in it;
Let the rivers clap their hands,
the mountains shout with them for joy.
R. Great and wonderful are all your works, Lord, mighty God!
Before the LORD, for he comes,
for he comes to rule the earth;
He will rule the world with justice
and the peoples with equity.
R. Great and wonderful are all your works, Lord, mighty God!

Alleluia
--------
RV 2:10C
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Remain faithful until death,
and I will give you the crown of life.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

LK 21:12-19
Jesus said to the crowd:
“They will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents,
brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives.”

FOCUS AND LITURGY OF THE WORD
Luke 21:12-19
Revelations 15:1-4
Luke’s passage as well as Revelations is a beautiful reminder of our choices in faith and how a choice of faith promises eternal life. When reading and reflecting on this scripture I thought of my own journey of faith.
Preparation and Formation
My mother and maternal grandmother believed in the promises of preparation and formation and in doing so kept the candlelight burning. I am hopeful that through my commitment to preparation and formation that the candle continues to burn for my future generations. My recommendations for preparation and formation? Join a community of faithful. Participate in the rituals of formation which includes dedication or baptism of your children or grandchildren or adult friends or significant others or soon to be wives or husbands. Dedicating your life to follow Jesus is a promise toward eternal life.
Growing Your Faith
As a child my parents were inconsistent in growing my faith. However, they ensured the seeds were planted through my baptism and surrounded me with friends and family who were a witness to their faith. Therefore, as a young adult I decided that Catholicism was my religion of choice. My commitment to growing my faith began and continues with the guidance of Jesus. My recommendations to growing your faith?  Join and belong to a community of faithful, engage in service activities to those in need, say yes when invited on a pilgrimage, participate in bible studies, read, listen to podcasts, attend a 3-4-5-7-30 day retreat. Learn about the Old Testament and its covenant and prophets and the new covenant brought forth in the New Testament. Pray continuously. When your feet hit the ground in the morning thank Jesus for blessing you with another day. Pray while in the car driving; on your daily walks or exercise; and/or before and after work meetings. Take 1-2-3 minutes or longer a day to thank God for all your blessings.
Witness for Others
Like the martyrs who were steadfast in their faith, be a witness for others. My recommendations to be a witness? Talk about your faith, your beliefs, share how God has blessed your life even during the difficult times. Share how the trees, the animals, the weather, the sunsets, sunrises are all part of God’s creation. God’s creations are for our eyes and ears to enjoy. Be joyful in your faith, have gratitude, and share your love.
Faithful Perseverance
Recognize that our journey of faith can take a wrong turn be paused…the evil spirit rejoices when that occurs. Be vigilant, keep your eyes and heart attune to this ….what to do? Say the Lord’s prayer…cast away the evil spirit by stating your belief in in Jesus and in God. Say the Lord’s prayer or any prayer.
Luke 21:14-19 is a wonderful reminder to all who have faith and for those who have questions of the validity of promises Jesus made. I was curious at how the Old Testament and New Testament supported or proclaimed the message in Luke 21. In the Old Testament the prophet’s message is shared:
Isaiah 21:11-12:
"Watchman, what of the night? The watchman said, 'Morning comes, but also night.' If you ask, 'What is the night?' then know that it is time for the Lord to come and bring judgment on the earth."
Psalm 123: 2
“Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God until He has mercy on us.”
Jeremiah 1:9
Then the Lord put his hand and touch my mouth. And the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.”
As well as the New Testament:
Matthew 24: 42
This is the word of God. “Therefore, be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.”
II Peter 3: 10:
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.”
Revelation 3:3
“Remember therefore what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. If therefore you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you.”
Overall, spiritual preparedness is what Jesus is asking of us. We believe Jesus is coming and we continually prepare. We are to be vigilant. Participate in formation, grow your faith, be a witness for others and persevere in your faith. Your eternal life with family and friends will be heavenly.

SAINT OF THE DAY
Saint Francesco Antonio Fasani
(August 6, 1681 – November 29, 1742)
Saint Francesco Antonio Fasani’s Story
Born in Lucera, Francesco entered the Conventual Franciscans in 1695. After his ordination 10 years later, he taught philosophy to younger friars, served as guardian of his friary, and later became provincial minister. When his term of office ended, Francesco became master of novices and finally pastor in his hometown.
In his various ministries, he was loving, devout, and penitential. He was a sought-after confessor and preacher. One witness at the canonical hearings regarding Francesco’s holiness testified, “In his preaching he spoke in a familiar way, filled as he was with the love of God and neighbor; fired by the Spirit, he made use of the word and deed of holy Scripture, stirring his listeners and moving them to do penance.” Francesco showed himself a loyal friend of the poor, never hesitating to seek from benefactors what was needed.
At his death in Lucera, children ran through the streets crying out, “The saint is dead! The saint is dead!” Francesco was canonized in 1986.
Reflection
----------
Eventually we become what we choose. If we choose stinginess, we become stingy. If we choose compassion, we become compassionate. The holiness of Francesco Antonio Fasani resulted from his many small decisions to cooperate with God’s grace.

1 Samuel 1: Ephraim's Wife Hannah Has Can Have Children, But His Other Wife Peninnah Cannot Have Children
1 There was a certain man from Ramathaim, a Zuphite from the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Elkanah son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.
2 He had two wives; one was called Hannah and the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none.
3 Year after year this man went up from his town to worship and sacrifice to the Lord Almighty at Shiloh, where Hophni and Phinehas, the two sons of Eli, were priests of the Lord.
4 Whenever the day came for Elkanah to sacrifice, he would give portions of the meat to his wife Peninnah and to all her sons and daughters.
5 But to Hannah he gave a double portion because he loved her, and the Lord had closed her womb.
6 Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her.
7 This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat.
8 Her husband Elkanah would say to her, “Hannah, why are you weeping? Why don’t you eat? Why are you downhearted? Don’t I mean more to you than ten sons?”
9 Once when they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh, Hannah stood up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his chair by the doorpost of the Lord’s house.
10 In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly.
11 And she made a vow, saying, “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”
12 As she kept on praying to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth.
13 Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk
14 and said to her, “How long are you going to stay drunk? Put away your wine.”
15 “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord.
16 Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”
17 Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.”
18 She said, “May your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast.
19 Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the Lord and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her.
20 So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.”
Hannah Dedicates Samuel
21 When her husband Elkanah went up with all his family to offer the annual sacrifice to the Lord and to fulfill his vow,
22 Hannah did not go. She said to her husband, “After the boy is weaned, I will take him and present him before the Lord, and he will live there always.”
23 “Do what seems best to you,” her husband Elkanah told her. “Stay here until you have weaned him; only may the Lord make good his word.” So the woman stayed at home and nursed her son until she had weaned him.
24 After he was weaned, she took the boy with her, young as he was, along with a three-year-old bull, an ephah of flour and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh.
25 When the bull had been sacrificed, they brought the boy to Eli,
26 and she said to him, “Pardon me, my lord. As surely as you live, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord.
27 I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.
28 So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.

Worthy Brief - November 29, 2023
Are you wrestling with God?
Genesis 32:24-30 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob's hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, "Let Me go, for the day breaks." But he said, "I will not let You go unless You bless me!" So He said to him, "What is your name?" He said, "Jacob." And He said, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed." Then Jacob asked, saying, "Tell me Your name, I pray." And He said, "Why is it that you ask about My name?" And He blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: "For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved."
In the most extreme moment of his life, when his entire household was threatened with annihilation, the Patriarch Jacob wrestled with a Man through an entire sleepless night. Somehow, after this astounding encounter, Jacob came to the realization that he had been wrestling with God, and face to face! Once again, the Lord God of heaven showed Himself as a human being to a man He loved; this time, for the purpose of rescuing, blessing, and preserving the man's destiny.
Jacob was relentless during this struggle and his perseverance changed him profoundly, forever, in several ways: he was wounded and walked with a limp for the rest of his life, a sign of human weakness and dependence on the Lord; he was given a new name ("Israel") and with it, a new identity, as a prince with God, and one whose struggle with the Almighty saved his life, his family, and his God-given inheritance and posterity; and finally, Jacob received the long-awaited relief and closure with the brother whom he had deceived and enraged so many years before.
So this wrestling match with God was a massive turning point in Jacob's life, and though it must have taken every ounce of human effort he could muster, the victory he won affected every human being in history, since, of course, the Man that Jacob wrestled with was almost certainly the same Man who became his most important descendant, the Savior of the world, Yeshua, the Messiah; (Jesus the Christ).
How often difficulties and crises are used by the Lord to bring us closer and to develop intimacy with Him. It is sometimes the Lord's will to draw us to Himself through extreme and even terrible circumstances or threats. The inner transformation that can take place when we pass through these intense prayer battles, cannot perhaps, be accomplished any other way. But consider the fruit and the blessing which can result from these mighty wrestlings. And consider how being that close to God Himself may change you forever. So, you who are gutting out that anguishing trial--don't let go until you receive the blessing, the change, the victory. I believe the Lord also wants to say to you--- that you have struggled with God and with men -- and have prevailed!
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
George, Baht Rivka, Obadiah and Elianna (Dallas, TX) (Baltimore, MD)

LIGHT OF LIFE 432
John 1:4
UNDERSTANDING PROPHETIC MANDATES 66: THE PROPHET 4
Amo 3:7 CERTAINLY, THE ALMIGHTY LORD DOESN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS HE FIRST REVEALS HIS SECRET TO HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS. GW
Now, we must [again] draw-the-line between a Prophet and a Minister with the gift of Prophecy.
There is a practical example of what “separates the boys from the men” in the bible.
Act 21:8-9 And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of PHILIP THE EVANGELIST, which WAS ONE OF THE SEVEN; and abode with him. And the same man had FOUR DAUGHTERS, VIRGINS, WHICH DID PROPHESY. KJV
There are many things to learn here beloved. First, Philip was EVANGELIST by Calling, but what did it mean by: “one of the seven”?
Act 6:2-3 The twelve apostles called the whole group of followers together and said, "We should not give up preaching God's message in order TO SERVE AT TABLES. My friends, CHOOSE SEVEN MEN WHO ARE RESPECTED AND WISE AND FILLED WITH GOD'S SPIRIT. We will put them in charge of these things. CEV
These were the seven chosen to take care of Kitchen matters before Stephen was killed. Philip, though an Evangelist, was chosen to do the work of an administrator.
Hence he would have needed the Gift of Administrations back then, right?
1Co 12:28 God has appointed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then those who perform miracles, those who have gifts of healing, those who help others, ADMINISTRATORS, and those who speak various kinds of languages. ISV
But that did not alter his dedication to his Primary Office and that kitchen job did not last long.
Now, Philip had 4 daughters who had gifts of Prophecy but were not Prophetesses.
Take note!
Act 21:9 He had four unmarried DAUGHTERS WHO HAD THE GIFT OF PROPHESYING. ERV
Then, a real Prophet soon visited them right in their father’s home.
Act 21:10-11 And as we stayed more days, A CERTAIN PROPHET FROM JUDEA NAMED AGABUS CAME DOWN. And coming to us, and taking Paul's belt, and binding his hands and feet, HE SAID, THE HOLY SPIRIT SAYS THESE THINGS: SO SHALL THE JEWS AT JERUSALEM BIND THE MAN WHOSE BELT THIS IS, and will deliver him into the hands of the nations. MKJV
Do we now say that the 4 [prophesying] daughters of Philip, who received Paul for days before Agabus got there, were spiritless or blinded by sin?
No!
They only had gifts, not the Calling. There are some definite things that distinguish real Prophets from others.
1. They are called to commonly very harsh conditions of living and discipline. Ordinary men cannot attain to the discipline they have to endure to keep up with God’s Mission.
Isa 20:2 THREE YEARS EARLIER the LORD had told Isaiah son of Amoz to TAKE OFF HIS SANDALS AND THE SACKCLOTH HE WAS WEARING. HE OBEYED AND WENT AROUND NAKED AND BAREFOOT. GNB
Can you use human waste as firewood just to give people illustrations and messages from God?
Eze 4:12 And you must eat the food like you would a barley cake. YOU MUST BAKE IT IN FRONT OF THEM OVER A FIRE MADE WITH DRIED HUMAN EXCREMENT.” NET
2. They are not men given to flamboyance or expensive lifestyles. They don’t stink and smell but they don’t dress to impress either.
Mat 3:4 Now John was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather band about him; and his food was locusts and honey. BBE
I am sure John’s family were no paupers, but he had to separate himself to God.
Luk 1:80 Afterward, their son grew up and was strengthened by the Holy Spirit and he grew in his love for God. JOHN CHOSE TO LIVE IN THE LONELY WILDERNESS UNTIL THE DAY CAME WHEN HE WAS TO BE DISPLAYED PUBLICLY TO ISRAEL. TPT
3. They are mostly called and separated from any vocations whatsoever.
Amo 7:14-15 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I WAS NO PROPHET, NEITHER WAS I A PROPHET'S SON; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit: And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and THE LORD SAID UNTO ME, GO, PROPHESY UNTO MY PEOPLE ISRAEL. GW
They sometimes start Ministry in another office but are suddenly called from that to Prophecy.
Jer 1:1 My name is Jeremiah. I AM A PRIEST, and my father Hilkiah and everyone else in my family are from Anathoth in the territory of the Benjamin tribe. THIS BOOK CONTAINS THE THINGS THAT THE LORD TOLD ME TO SAY. CEV
We’ll discuss a few more points later. May God guide you into your own Course in Life, IN JESUS NAME.
Come back on Friday, for more of this insightful and enlightening Sub-Subtopic.
Keep Shinning!

Parsha 14. Vayera. “The Wild Ass.” From Exodus 6-9:35.2.
Vay= woe
Er= Aroused Wild Ass.
A=Aleph, Oneness with God.
Tumblr media
God also said to Moses, “I am the Lord. 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty,[a] but by my name the Lord[b] I did not make myself fully known to them. 4 I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan “the Place of Purple”, where they resided as foreigners. 5 Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.
-> Pay attention, fool, everyone who has ever been to Canaan after the departure of the Nephites was a foreigner!
6 “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.’”
9 Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor.
->The Egyptians are like parents that spoil you. Moses was not a Jew, he was a Lew, a "together kind of guy" and he went to the Miseries to get the Overcomers, ruff, to leave home, to leave childhood and how things used to be and venture out.
The Pharaoh, the Confederate, is the little brat that collects little sins and keeps them in a basket.
10 Then the Lord said to Moses, 11 “Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country.”
12 But Moses said to the Lord, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips[c]?”
-> When your grown up voice fails, you have to turn to the Family Record for the skills needed to restore it:
Family Record of Moses and Aaron
13 Now the Lord spoke to Moses (deliverer) and Aaron (the Exalted) about the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he commanded them to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.
14 These were the heads of their families[d]:
-> We are about to learn all the qualities and attributes being suppressed by the Pharaoh, who is a dual character in the Torah. As Joseph’s patron, good things happened. As the patron of Moses, life went to shit.
Now the leaders of the Nation want their freedom and they are gathering, sending a message of Deliverance and Exaltation to the “overmind” of the people, the god-man they call the Pharaoh, who is really a model for the intellect, which, based on its habits postulates for the long-term health and happiness of the people or their use in prolonging its lazy, sinful ways of life.
The sons of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel were Hanok and Pallu, Hezron and Karmi. These were the clans of Reuben, “The Originator.”
Israel: Overcomes.
Reuben: Leadership.
Hanok= Dedication
Pallu= Discernment
Hezron= Objective
Karmi= Noble
"The Leaders of Israel are expected to be dedicated, have superior discrimination and demonstrate noble character."
15 The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. These were the clans of Simeon.
Simeon= Obedient, Lawful
Jemuel= Pure, untainted, ever new
Jamin= “Right Handed”= Just
Ohad= Honest
Jakin= Established= calm, balanced, composed
Zohar= Intelligent, ingenious
"They are law-abiding, just, honest, incorruptible, intelligent ingenious, balanced in all circumstances."
16 These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
Levi= Does not argue or cavil, amicable
Gershon= stoic, self-controlled
Kohath= forthrightness
Merari= forbearance, does not complain
"They are steadfast, and self-controlled, forthright and constructive."
17 The sons of Gershon, by clans, were Libni and Shimei.
Libni= the witness, keen observer
Shimei= of good repute
"They avoid the ungodly and associate with men of good reputations."
18 The sons of Kohath [gather, hope] were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath, “Forthright”  lived 133 years.
Amram= to bind= speaks the truth
Izhar= one who listens
Hebron= friendly to all
19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi.
Mahli= humble, forgiving
Mushi= withdraws, is conservative, frugal
These were the clans of Levi according to their records.
"The friendliest foster hope, they show empathy to others, are forgiving and helpful."
20 Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed “Glory of God”, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.
"Truth gives glory to God, exalts and embodies Him."
21 The sons of Izhar [sparkler] were Korah, Nepheg and Zikri.
Korah= “Bald” or “Cold as ice.” Probably refers to self-controlled, not vain, not levitous.
Nepheg= attentive
Zikri= Zachary= leaves a good impression
"They leave a good impression but are not vain."
22 The sons of Uzziel “principaled” were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.
Mishael= “Who is asked”, “is called”.
Elzaphan= Who God Protects,
Sithri = “one who protects in God’s stead” “is protective”.
"They are principled and act in God's stead when called upon. This creates abundance, a place for other nobles to gather strategize, worship, serve, and govern. Citizens want to be loyal to these kinds of men, be their prisoners."
23 Aaron married Elisheba “abundance of God” , daughter of Amminadab “noble people”, and sister of Nahshon “strategic”, and she bore him Nadab “giving” and Abihu “worships”, Eleazar “humble, a servant of God” and Ithamar “Father of Tamar” and we know all about her.
24 The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were the Korahite clans.
Assir= “prisoner” - bound to, must refer to “loyalty”.
Elkanah= Godly, not inhumane
Abiasaph= “the gatherer” - “leader” or governor.
25 Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel “the fatener” “the provider”, and she bore him Phinehas “trusthworthy”.
These were the heads of the Levite families, clan by clan.
26 It was this Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said, “Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions.” 27 They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing the Israelites out of Egypt—this same Moses and Aaron.
=
"These people are my subjects, not your prisoners. We belong to each other, not to you."
Aaron to Speak for Moses
Tumblr media
28 Now when the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt, 29 he said to him, “I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you.”
30 But Moses said to the Lord, “Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”
7 Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. 2 You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. 3 But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, 4 he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. 5 And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”
6 Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them. 7 Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.
Aaron’s Staff Becomes a Snake
8 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 9 “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.”
10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. 11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: 12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs. 13 Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.
=a cock fight, but with snakes.
The Plague of Blood
14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go. 15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the river. Confront him on the bank of the Nile, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake. 16 Then say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the wilderness. But until now you have not listened. 17 This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. 18 The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.’”
19 The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt—over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs—and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels[e] of wood and stone.”
20 Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood. 21 The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.
22 But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh’s heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said. 23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart. 24 And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the river.
The Plague of Frogs
25 Seven days passed after the Lord struck the Nile. 8 1 [f]Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. 2 If you refuse to let them go, I will send a plague of frogs on your whole country. 3 The Nile will teem with frogs. They will come up into your palace and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and on your people, and into your ovens and kneading troughs. 4 The frogs will come up on you and your people and all your officials.’”
5 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.’”
6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land. 7 But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts; they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.
8 Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”
9 Moses said to Pharaoh, “I leave to you the honor of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.”
10 “Tomorrow,” Pharaoh said.
Moses replied, “It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the Lord our God. 11 The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.”
12 After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh. 13 And the Lord did what Moses asked. The frogs died in the houses, in the courtyards and in the fields. 14 They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them. 15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.
The Plague of Gnats
16 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground,’ and throughout the land of Egypt the dust will become gnats.” 17 They did this, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with the staff and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came on people and animals. All the dust throughout the land of Egypt became gnats. 18 But when the magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, they could not.
Since the gnats were on people and animals everywhere, 19 the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the Lord had said.
The Plague of Flies
20 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he goes to the river and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. 21 If you do not let my people go, I will send swarms of flies on you and your officials, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians will be full of flies; even the ground will be covered with them.
22 “‘But on that day I will deal differently with the land of Goshen (from Greek, Argos, to drawn near to purity), where my people live; no swarms of flies will be there, so that you will know that I, the Lord, am in this land. 23 I will make a distinction[g] between my people and your people. This sign will occur tomorrow.’”
24 And the Lord did this. Dense swarms of flies poured into Pharaoh’s palace and into the houses of his officials; throughout Egypt the land was ruined by the flies.
25 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God here in the land.”
26 But Moses said, “That would not be right. The sacrifices we offer the Lord our God would be detestable to the Egyptians. And if we offer sacrifices that are detestable in their eyes, will they not stone us? 27 We must take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God, as he commands us.”
28 Pharaoh said, “I will let you go to offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me.”
29 Moses answered, “As soon as I leave you, I will pray to the Lord, and tomorrow the flies will leave Pharaoh and his officials and his people. Only let Pharaoh be sure that he does not act deceitfully again by not letting the people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”
30 Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord, 31 and the Lord did what Moses asked. The flies left Pharaoh and his officials and his people; not a fly remained. 32 But this time also Pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let the people go.
The Plague on Livestock
9 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, so that they may worship me.” 2 If you refuse to let them go and continue to hold them back, 3 the hand of the Lord will bring a terrible plague on your livestock in the field—on your horses, donkeys and camels and on your cattle, sheep and goats. 4 But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die.’”
5 The Lord set a time and said, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this in the land.” 6 And the next day the Lord did it: All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one animal belonging to the Israelites died. 7 Pharaoh investigated and found that not even one of the animals of the Israelites had died. Yet his heart was unyielding and he would not let the people go.
Two snakes= Two snakes= today and tomorrow. Pharaoh was all about tomorrow, wasn’t he? Then Today ate him.
A Plague of Blood= this is obvious. When the water turns to blood things have gone too far.
A Plague of Frogs= Frogs hide, then they stick their tongues out and snatch prey. They are vicious creatures, too. Frogs represent gossip, false counsel, lies, propaganda. Frogs are very bad news. They are also loud and cause the stank.
If the counsel of Joseph saved the world, the counsel of a bunch of frogs will very likely damn it.
Plague of Gnats= as if gossips aren’t bad enough, the corrupt come along and parasitize society.
(are you getting it yet- the plagues are the inverse of the qualities and attributes, or are inverse causes and effects to them).
Plague on livestock= waste, abuse, corruption, impropriety eventually these reach the farm and the arbor and society starves. It starves for talent, for abundance, for freedom, for peace of mind.
Notice God spares the men and women possessed of the Attributes from scarcity and poverty. Theoretically He does...
First, the Pharaoh, the total loser, needs to learn. And that’s what plagues are for, they instruct. The hard way, the very very hard way...
Ultimately, the human condition must never be propagandized, skewed or instrumental except in its own service. Seven days of Violations and Ten Plagues instead of Seven Days of progress made possibly by observance of Ten Commandments.
God was very, very disappointed. Thus ends the Parsha, Vayera, "The Wild Ass" numbered 14 of 54 contained in the Holy Torah.

Today the Church remembers and celebrates the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Theotokos (Bearer of God), the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ora pro nobis.
The modern canon of scripture does not record Mary's birth. The earliest known account of Mary's birth is found in the Protoevangelium of James (5:2), an apocryphal text from the late second century AD, which also gives the names of her parents as Anne (Hannah) and Joachim.
The Church usually commemorates Saints by their date of death, but Saint John the Baptist and the Virgin Mary as the few whose birth dates are commemorated. The reason for this is found in the singular mission each had in salvation history, but traditionally also because these alone were holy in their very birth.
The "Protoevangelium of James", which was probably put into its final written form in the early second century AD, describes Mary's father Joachim as a wealthy member of one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. He and his wife Anne were deeply grieved by their childlessness. Pious accounts place the birthplace of the Virgin Mary in Sepphoris, Israel where a 5th-century AD basilica is excavated at the site. Some accounts speak of Nazareth and others say it was in a house near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem. It is possible that a wealthy man such as Joachim had a home in both Judea and Galilee, but cannot be asserted with certainty.
The earliest document commemorating Marymas comes from a hymn written in the sixth century AD. The feast may have originated somewhere in Syria or Israel in the beginning of the sixth century, when after the Council of Ephesus (431 AD), devotion to the Theotokos (God-bearer) was greatly intensified, especially in Syria.
The first liturgical commemoration is connected with the sixth century dedication of the Basilica Sanctae Mariae ubi nata est, now called the Church of Saint Anne in Jerusalem. The original church, built in the fifth century, was a Marian basilica erected on the spot known as the Shepherd's Pool and thought to have been the home of Mary's parents. In the seventh century, the feast was celebrated by the Byzantines as the Feast of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Since the story of Mary's Nativity is known only from apocryphal sources, the Latin Church was slower in adopting this festival. At Rome, the Feast began to be kept toward the end of the 7th century, brought there by Eastern monks.
Almighty God, who chose the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the mother of your only Son: Grant that we who are redeemed by his blood may share with her in the glory of your eternal kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen.

Reading for March 11th                      Ezra 10| Well, what a way to end this time with you all. Reverend Shane will pick up with Nehemiah tomorrow. We have to admit, this chapter was tough. It’s a heartbreaking picture of what disobedience to God can do. Not only did Israel compromise their relationship with God, they lost the gracious hand of God upon them (Ezra 8:18). They lost the joy and sense of victory in rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem and bringing the exiles back. The grief, even now, is most palpable because we all have been there in one way or another with our own disobedience to God or the effects of someone else’s disobedience to God. When God tells us His plan and how to follow it, and we don’t, it is a mockery to His name and our influence in the world. This isn’t the most uplifting devotional we’ve ever written, but we see how necessary it is and the love of God that’s poured out in this chapter to us in 2022. This was written so long ago for us. He wants us to see that there may be “pleasure in sin for a season” but the results of our( sin can only be repaired by true repentance. This chapter tells us that Ezra was deep in prayer, confession and weeping for the acts of the children of Israel. (Ezra 9:14, 15). His confession and recognition that the people broke God’s commands by intermarrying with people that did detestable things had him lying on his face before God at the temple entrance. God knew what He expected of them when it came to marriage. Marriage is God’s idea. Marriage is about intimacy. Then and now, He was giving them a warning about intimacy with the ungodly culture. This intimacy leads to a covenant and when we are joined with the world, it leads to a break in that covenant with God. It should not come as a surprise that there was judgment in Israel (and in the modern church, for that matter). Take a look at Matthew 7:15-20. What we are intimate with will lead to good or bad fruit. Joining with what God said a hard ‘no’ to is what led the Jews to do detestable things! Please understand, we are not wanting to focus on rules but on relationship. Unless we are 100% sold out to loving Jesus and putting nothing before Him, we will drift towards the ways of this culture. It is so important to have a life dedicated to praise and worship. It leads us to intimacy with God and His presence. Digging deep into the Word of God is so vital to our relationship with Him. It creates an intimacy with Jesus Christ because He is spoken of in the volume of THE Book. (Psalm 40:7; Hebrews 10:7) Our marriage, if you will, as being the Bride of Christ, only comes by intimacy with God Almighty. Putting Him first in every aspect of our lives is the only way to avoid being “wed” with the ungodly culture and compromising our relationship with Him and our influence for Jesus in the world. Heavy stuff, but necessary. God is not calling a people to Himself in this dark world that are going to play around or get too close to the fire of the culture. He is calling a people that are sold out, focused and intimate with Him, not for us, but for His purposes in this lost and hurting world! We leave you with Romans 12:1, 2. This is our prayer and plea for all of us. Let’s be “married” to the light and life of Jesus Christ. In His strong name, Amen!

Today is the 18th day of July welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian and it is an honor and a joy to just kind of walk and sit down around this Global Campfire and open up the Scriptures and just relax, exhale…ahh…and enjoy the word of God being spoken today. And, so, let’s get to that. We are continuing our journey through the book of first Chronicles as well as our journey through Paul's letter to the Romans. And we’ve been reading from the Lexham English Bible this week, which is what we'll do today since it's the last day of the week. So, let’s dive in. First Chronicles chapter 26 verse 12 through 27 verse 34 today.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for another day. We thank You for another week. We thank You for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are ever present if we are even remotely aware. You are with us and we are still here walking forward, and You are still willing to guide and direct our steps as we surrender ourselves in faith and believe and receive the gift. So, come Holy Spirit. This is such a relief, and yet…and yet we so rarely partake. To consider that it is already done, that we aren't earning anything, that You love us period and that You are leading us as a Father would into the truth so that we might…so that we might shine the light into this world and so that we might live as we were created to live. This isn’t fencing us in this is setting us free. And, so as we release this week and it becomes a part of history, we look forward to living into this in the days ahead. Come lead us Holy Spirit. Show us what this looks like for us. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hey DAB family this is the other Melanie from Georgia. I’m calling today because I saw on Facebook last night, Harold that you posted about the fact that the Chicago Marathon that you’ve been training for all these many months has officially been canceled. And it just reminded me of that first day that I heard you call in, just a guy from St. Louis who was not a believer but was listening to the podcast and really feeling encouragement. And just this journey that you’ve been on and all of us have been with you is just interesting to me that ultimately it turned out that that did not get to happen. But what a greater thing God is doing in your life and has done and will do just by your faithfulness and I just wanted to call in today and just rejoice with you that you are here and you’re a part of this community. And now you may not be running in the Chicago Marathon and you may not ever run in a marathon but you are running the race that’s really and truly important and you’ve been such an inspiration and I just wanted to call in and just recognize that and thank you for what you’ve meant to this community. And I just wanted to also just quickly pray this prayer from the book of common prayer. Oh, Holy Spirit beloved of my soul, I adore You. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me, console me. Tell me what I should do, give me Your orders. I promise to submit myself to all that You desire of me and to accept all that You permit that happen to me. Let me only know Your will. Amen. I pray that for all of us.
Hi Daily Audio Bible family it’s been so long since I’ve left anything on this prayer line. I think the last time I popped in was for the Christmas last year. So much has changed in my life and it’s hard to find the time dedicate to the prayers of all my brothers and sisters. So, I have decided to make sure that I listen to this month and not worry about the months that have gone on before and make sure that I’m current with July and then as the Lord helps me find the time I will go back to previous ones. But on July 6th Trusting Father confessed to the sin of arrogance and that prayer pierced my heart because I too have been thinking I have been better than someone else and I have shown it in my speech and it’s just gotten nasty. And, so I confess that I have been arrogant. And I want to be humble because O Lord I am a daughter of yours and there’s nothing in me, no wisdom, no skill, no anything that does not come from You. And, so, God I just want to shine Your light in the world and not worry whether I’m in shadow or not. Thank You, God. Amen.
Good morning this is Fenney from London I’m calling in response to GG from Gainesville message. My heart is so heavy for you. I am so connected to your spirit. I know that you are going through a lot now with the loss of your father. Wow. It’s only God Almighty that can strengthen you and I pray that the Spirit of the Lord will comfort you, the Spirit of comfort will overwhelm you and the rest of your family, that the strength…God’s strength will be made perfect in this time of your need, of your weakness. I pray that you will feel the embrace of the Lord God Almighty. Be assured that He never leaves you nor forsake you. The Lord is always with you and He’ll always be with you. Stay strong in the Lord and He will help you through this difficult period. Rest assured upon Him He never fails. It doesn’t matter what the situation might be, it doesn’t matter what we are going through, God is always there. You just need to continue to call upon Him …
Hey, my sweet DAB fam this is Kingdom Seeker Daniel from Chicago I apologize for calling again. Today is the 14th and I just heard GG from Gainesville’s call. My dear, I am so sorry, so sorry for your loss. I am praying for you and my wife and I will be standing in the gap for you. You sound like such an incredible young lady that God’s hand is on mightily and I want to pray for you, and we will continue to pray for you. As you said, your DAB family will be praying for you. Father, I ask You to please wrap GG, her four siblings, sisters and brother and mom in Your arm. Will You strengthen them and give them the ability to move forward? Help GG in her physics and her chemistry and prokaryotic diversity classes. Give her the strength to finish strong. I ask Father that Your grace will see her through this and the family as a whole. And I pray for Your peace to completely surround them and help them to take one step at a time. Let them know that You are a very present help in their very difficult time right now. Thank You for this precious Young lady GG and her family in Jesus’ name. Love you sis.

Hello, my beloved DAB family I can’t let the sun go down on this day July 13th 2020 without acknowledging that today is my 10th DAB birthday thanks to my beautiful daughter leading be here with my life was broken. Because of her love and Brian’s obedience my life will never be the same. Through nearly a year of unemployment followed by the best job ever, a trail of broken relationships, and a remarriage to an amazing man of God, praying my children through very difficult times and seeing them absolutely flourish today, moving to my moms hometown and feeling her presence all around me despite her passing in 1983, one family gathering, three trips to Israel, one more gathering, finding the most amazing church, many new friends and so many more countless blessings all while Brian washed the living breathing word of God over my life every morning without fail. As sure as the sun rises, the word is there, feeding, guiding, correcting, directing. Brian, you and your family’s obedience have saved my life and the lives of thousands. I humbly thank you and ask God in Jesus’ name by the power of the Holy Spirit to continue to bless you, your family, and your anointed work. This is Cathleen from the beautiful rolling hills of Taska Minnesota.

LIGHT OF LIFE 406
John 1:4
UNDERSTANDING PROPHETIC MANDATES 40: TYPES OF PROPHECY 6
Amo 3:7 CERTAINLY, THE ALMIGHTY LORD DOESN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS HE FIRST REVEALS HIS SECRET TO HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS. GW
We have discussed Prophetic INSTRUCTIONS and their relative OPPOSITIONS as part of Personal EXPERIENCES, right?
Well another Type of Prophecy is that based on EVENTS in the courses of Humanity, and they are subdivided into two (2) parts:
1. Prophecies of EVENTS based on CONSEQUENCES of Offenses by Humans against God.
Jer 19:3-4 Say, Give ear to the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah and people of Jerusalem; the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said, See, I WILL SEND EVIL ON THIS PLACE WHICH WILL BE BITTER TO THE EARS OF ANYONE HEARING OF IT. BECAUSE THEY HAVE GIVEN ME UP, AND MADE THIS PLACE A STRANGE PLACE, BURNING PERFUMES IN IT TO OTHER GODS, of whom they and their fathers and the kings of Judah had no knowledge; and they have made this place full of the blood of those who have done no wrong; BBE
As further subdivision of the above, there are also Prophecies of REWARDS & BLESSINGS based on faithfulness and Dedication of Men towards God.
Gen 8:21-22 THE SMELL OF THE BURNING OFFERING PLEASED GOD, AND HE SAID: NEVER AGAIN WILL I PUNISH THE EARTH FOR THE SINFUL THINGS ITS PEOPLE DO. All of them have evil thoughts from the time they are young, but I will never destroy everything that breathes, as I did this time. AS LONG AS THE EARTH REMAINS, THERE WILL BE PLANTING AND HARVEST, COLD AND HEAT; WINTER AND SUMMER, DAY AND NIGHT. CEV
2. Prophecies of EVENTS based plainly on God’s unfolding Plans for the World and His Church.
Dan 2:31-33 "Your Majesty, IN YOUR VISION YOU SAW standing before you a giant statue, bright and shining, and terrifying to look at. Its head was made of the finest gold; its chest and arms were made of silver; its waist and hips of bronze, its legs of iron, and its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. GNB
That was a Prophecy about WORLD GOVERNMENT STRUCTURE as Initiated and Orchestrated by God, and it is planned to CULMINATE in the Reign of the Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour JESUS.
Dan 2:44-45 In the days of those kings the GOD OF HEAVEN WILL RAISE UP AN EVERLASTING KINGDOM THAT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED and a kingdom that will not be left to another people. It will break in pieces and bring about the demise of all these kingdoms. But it will stand forever. You saw that a stone was cut from a mountain, but not by human hands; it smashed the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold into pieces. THE GREAT GOD HAS MADE KNOWN TO THE KING WHAT WILL OCCUR IN THE FUTURE. THE DREAM IS CERTAIN, AND ITS INTERPRETATION IS RELIABLE.” NET
That was a presentation of Kingdoms of the world in descending measure of Power till Jesus, with the greatest of all Kingdoms: THE CHURCH KINGDOM, which will last forever.
It is not a matter of whether the People are dedicated to God or not; it’s surely happening in that exact order.
But there’s another subdivision to this type of Prophecy, you know.
Gen 41:25-27 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, "BOTH OF THESE DREAMS HAVE THE SAME MEANING. GOD IS TELLING YOU WHAT WILL HAPPEN SOON. The seven good cows and the seven good heads of grain are seven good years. And the seven thin, sick-looking cows and the seven thin heads of grain mean that THERE WILL BE SEVEN YEARS OF HUNGER IN THIS AREA. These seven bad years will come after the seven good years. ERV
Prophecies of NEGATIVE things are not always a factor of CONSEQUENCES for sins of men.
FAMINE is part of God’s Divine ORDER for Managing the Earth.
Famine is part of Life.
Act 11:28-30 One of them was named AGABUS. THROUGH THE SPIRIT AGABUS PREDICTED THAT A SEVERE FAMINE WOULD AFFECT THE ENTIRE WORLD. This happened while Claudius was emperor. All the disciples in Antioch decided to contribute whatever they could afford to help the believers living in Judea. The disciples did this and sent their contribution with Barnabas and Saul to the leaders in Jerusalem. GW
Famine happened during Abraham’s, Isaac’s & Jacobs times, and it still happens today and even seems to have a Dating structure and setting.
The funny thing is that everyone: Righteous or unbeliever, experience all of these events together, though in varying magnitudes.
Eze 9:4-5 The Lord said to him, Go through the town, through the middle of Jerusalem, and PUT A MARK ON THE BROWS OF THE MEN WHO ARE SORROWING AND CRYING FOR ALL THE DISGUSTING THINGS WHICH ARE DONE IN IT. And to these he said in my hearing, Go through the town after him using your axes: do not let your eyes have mercy, and have no pity: CEV
Since such Prophecies are not really about individuals, our individual role as Believers - which is yet a Mandate - is to keep our commitment and righteousness with God at its ultimate.
May God give us all hearts, always sacrificially committed to His Divine cause, IN JESUS NAME.
Come back on Monday, for more of this insightful and enlightening Sub-Subtopic.
Keep Shinning!

The Other 'Mark': the Seal of God
2 Timothy 2.19
Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, 'The Lord knows those who are his'…
Last week, we discussed the 'mark of the beast', its purpose, its significance, and the result of  swearing allegiance to Satan.  But there's another 'mark' that figures prominently in the book of Revelation: the seal of God with which His people are marked.
When God sent the plagues upon Egypt, those plagues did not fall on His people Israel. He specifically said that He would make a distinction between His people and the Egyptians who were enslaving them
'But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where My people are living, so that no swarms of flies will be there, in order that you may know that I, the LORD, am in the midst of the land.  I will put a division between My people and your people….'  —Exodus 8.22-23 (NASB)
Now, as then, we are instructed to separate ourselves from the world, to dedicate ourselves to Almighty God.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. —1 Peter 2.9 (NASB)
'Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,' says the Lord.  'And do not touch what is unclean; and I will welcome you.  And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me,' says the Lord Almighty.  —2 Corinthians 2.17-18 (NASB)
This is especially important as we enter these last dark days.
I heard another voice from heaven, saying, 'Come out of her, My people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues.'  —Revelation 18.4 (NASB)
There are many who believe that we will be whisked away in the nick of time, before the upheaval of the last days.  My fear for them is that they will not be prepared for the dark days ahead and will not possess the spiritual resources necessary to endure such times.
In John's vision of the end times, we see clearly that Israel and the Church will remain here through at least part of the Tribulation.
They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, not any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.  —Revelation 9.4 (NASB)
And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads.'  And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel.  —Revelation 7.2-4 (NASB)
Note that there are 12,000 sealed from each of the Twelve Tribes (Revelation 7.5-8). However, the order of the Twelve is not their birth order.  I am not prepared to discuss this matter here, except to point out that the tribe of Judah, from which the Messiah descended (Matthew 1.1-17; Luke 3.23-38) is listed first; and the tribe of Dan, through whom idolatry was introduced into Israel (Judges 18), is omitted.
Those who are counting on a 'rapture' to save them from the events of the end times insist that the 144,000 are those who are saved during the Great Tribulation.  Yet those same people cite 2 Thessalonians 2.7 as proof that the Holy Spirit must be removed from the earth before the antichrist can arise.  Since it is the Holy Spirit Who calls us to Jesus (John 6.44), how, then, can anyone be saved if He is not present?  Therefore, that approach is not logical.
There are also these passages to consider:
It was also given to him [the beast] to make war with the saints and to overcome them…  —Revelation 13.7 (NASB)
All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. —Revelation 13.8 (NASB) (italics mine)
And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak, and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed.  —Revelation 13.15 (NASB)
… And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand…  —Revelation 20.4 (NASB)
That presupposes that at least some of those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life are present on the earth during the rule of the antichrist.
Are the 144,000 from the Twelve Tribes of Israel the only ones who are marked with the seal of God?
If we read a little farther, we discover that there are others who remain true to the One God during those times of great distress.
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands…  Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, 'These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?'  I said to him, 'My lord, you know.'  And he said to me, 'These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation…' —Revelation 7.9, 13-14 (NASB) (italics mine)
To me, that sounds pretty definitive.  Some of us will be here to witness the power and the wrath of God.  And though we will be protected from His wrath, just as Israel was protected when they were in Egypt, we will be subject to the wrath of the antichrist when we refuse to deny Jesus and refuse to worship the beast.
Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.  —2 Corinthians 1.21-22 (NASB)
Are you prepared? Do you have sufficient oil to keep your lamp burning until the final victory?

On rain and revelations
Ever since the extreme rules of quarantine were lifted, and going out for exercise or semi-leisure became permitted, I took the opportunity and had these daily walks.
Or worship walks as I would eventually call them.
I couldn't find time alone in my home, mainly because we are a big family living in a small space. So a trip outside was warranted.
Yesterday, I was having one of these prayer moments when, as I headed back home, the rain fell. And hard.
The skies had been darkened for quite sometime now and a drizzle had been appearing at irregular intervals but at around 3 or 4 the heavens went all out.
Later on, while relaying this vignette to my girlfriend and a close friend of mine, I said it this way: "Inabutan ako ng storm."
Don't judge me.
But anyway, I had to rush over to the nearest shelter, in front of a closed Black Scoop shop on our street and had to try my best not to get wet since the winds were wild.
So I was there, standing, looking at the angry skies, and then I took notice of the song playing on my earphones.
The downpour was so heavy, the gust was violent, and on my Spotify: "I'm Getting Ready" by Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
"I'm getting ready to see/ something I've never seen."
"God's doing a new thing/ get ready for overflow."
"I'm getting ready/ ready for overflow."
Then the thought came to me: Rains. Blessings. Then I hear the music again.
Bam.
You know that feeling when you really sense that God is showing you, telling you, something? You just know. And for me it doesn't happen the way I want it to but when it does, I know it to be true.
Just like that moment.
Although blessings is a part of my prayer life - and my life in general - it's a facet I haven't really given much priority because I had a different spiritual focus. To be clear, I am not closing my doors on blessing - no way haha. But, I my journey right now is taking my mind off that concern. That need. That prayer.
So when the revelation or reminder dawned on me as the rains continued to pour, I was like.
No way.
Disbelief not because I am surprised it happened but for the reason that I didn't realize that God will tell me something about anything that isn't directly related to my focus.
The focus? Knowing Him. Just that.
And there I was, thinking about rain and its association with blessing.
I prayed fervently, as one does when hit by the Almighty, and opened my heart to whatever God wants to bless me with. Yes, I have my personal concerns. But I wanted Him to move according to what He wants. And not what I want. And that's what I prayed.
Lord, I don't want to limit you with my own definitions. Thank you for reminding me that you are Jehovah Jireh. The provider. From whom all blessings flow. Help me prepare myself, prepare the barnyard, for the overflow, the outpouring, that you have in store for me.
And, just then, I kid you not, for the first time since it started to rain, lightning flashed, thunder crashed.
I am not one to entertain mystical occurances or spiritual coincidences - and to think, I am a Christian - but for some reason, and people might say I am wrong, I know that phenomena was an answer from Him.
You can doubt me. I also doubt it in some ways. Sometimes. But I know in the deepest recesses of my heart that I just had a conversation with God.
***
I had been sitting on this for 24 hours already and I am still trying to dwell on it.
Ever since I woke up this morning, my mind was on this so for my quiet time, I studied on the significance of rain.
I know that it has its cultural implications and symbolism throughout history. Ancient civilizations attributed a lot of spiritual meaning to natural phenomena and rain is one of those.
One of the first topics I saw was that from the Baha'i faith. According to it, rain is the relationship that people have with the truth. Abdu'l Baha said, "The reality of the Divinity is like an endless ocean. Revelation may be likened to the rain. Can you imagine the cessation of rain? Ever on the face of the earth somewhere rain is pouring down."
That was one quotes that made sense to me and something I think I can relate to MY faith. So I then veered to the primary source, the Word.
In the Old Testament, there have been a lot of scriptures about rain or referencing rain when it comes to God's pronouncements and all that. And apparently, according to one site dedicated to Israel's history and culture, there is an amazing connection as to why Israel as a location was important to the story of the Christian faith.
The Lord directed and established His chosen ones (Israel) in a dry and dusty place where there is no reliable source of water (unlike Egypt's Nile, the Euphrates, etc) so that they have no choice but to look to the skies, rely on the one who can make it rain.
In Psalm 72: 6, which is described as a Psalm of Solomon, Christ, the Righteous King, is being described and it was said: "May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth."
In Hosea 6: 3 - "Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; and He will come to us like the rain."
***
Dwelling on all of this, I relish in the message that I believe God wants me to bite my teeth into.
Just like as in the situation of Israel, the Lord is reminding me that He wants me - us - to depend on Him, not on our own capabilities. Their will be famine in our lives, for sure. Their will be desolation. A story of wilderness. But in those moments, when all of our power has been spent, we must remember to look to the heavens. Look to Him who can make it rain. Look to Him who can cause an outpouring in our lives.
And in the core of that? He wants us to come and talk to Him. To seek Him. He wants us to have a relationship with Him. Him, the God from whom all blessings flow.
I recall that Baha'i saying: "The reality of the Divinity" is like an ocean. "Revelation" can be likened to rain. And maybe, in a sense, it us true. Christ is the living water, our wellspring of joy, the source of a vast ocean of love, grace, mercy. And from Him can we only drink if we want to gain life eternal. Our journey into knowing Him will cause this outburst of blessing and revelation, a holy flood driven by the Spirit.
And we must surrender ourselves to it. To Him. From whom are all things, for whom are all things, and to whom are all things.
